For Dr. Krutchick, knowledge is power. That’s why he is dedicated to constant study and continuing education. New York State requires dentists to take 20 hours of continuing education a year. Dr. Krutchick was recently honored for completing 2000 hours over a ten-year period, ten times more than what is required. But he is passionate about knowing everything he can and truly enjoys constantly taking classes and building upon his expertise.
He also has a New York state certificate for sedation dentistry, and is involved in teaching other dentists about laser dentistry as a certified Biolase instructor.
It was his sedation training and compassion toward patients which led to a woman flying across the Atlantic Ocean to have her dental work done by Dr. Krutchick. Tas Cornwall, of Sussex, England, was left barely able to eat and with a kidney problem because of the lack of compassionate care she received from her home country’s dental system. When she learned about Dr. Krutchick, she contacted him immediately and is now sporting a healthy, pain-free smile. Dr. Krutchick strikes people as a genuine person who doesn’t believe in pretense. What you see is what you get. And patients remark about how they feel comfortable with him. He likes knowing that, because patient comfort is high on his list of priorities. He loves hearing from patients who were previously fearful who say that they actually enjoyed their dental work from him! He works at creating that feeling by listening carefully to you. If you have questions or concerns, he’ll listen attentively without making you feel rushed. If you’re a fearful patient with a sedation appointment, you’ll be the only patient scheduled for that day, so that he will be able to give you his full attention. And after you get home, expect a personal phone call from him to see how you are doing.
Even after more than 25 years in practice, he continues to love his work every day. And sometimes he has even taken vacation time to do dentistry, taking trips to the Dominican Republic as a medical missionary.
Dr. Krutchick got his deep commitment to dentistry from his family. His father was a dentist. He is a native Buffalonian, having grown up in North Buffalo. For the last 30 years he has resided in Orchard Park with his wife, Deborah. They have three children. Their oldest daughter is a nurse, their son is an IT Equipment specialist, and their youngest daughter is a classical singer.
When not at work or spending time with his family, Dr. Krutchick enjoys the outdoors. He hikes with his dogs, is an avid golfer, skier, bike rider, and he enjoys weekly workouts. Dr. Krutchick has climbed the Middle Sister Mountain in Oregon to raise money for children in Nepal. (Click here to read about this fundraising project.)
Dr. Krutchick understands that his patients are not all the same. He doesn’t use a one-size-fits-all approach when addressing your oral health. He believes in a personalized, comprehensive approach. And above all else, he takes it seriously that you’ve chosen to put your confidence in him and his team when you come through the office door.
