I have a mouth full of silver fillings. Almost every tooth on my bottom arch has a filling. I recently learned the silver fillings are filled with mercury. Am I poisoning my body?

Steve,
Officially, the American Dental Association (ADA) silver (amalgam) fillings are perfectly safe. Patients, and some dentists, however, are growing concerned about the toxicity issues. If you’re uncomfortable with the mercury in your fillings, I suggest you have them removed and replaced with composite fillings. Not only are they mercury-free, but they strengthen the tooth and are white, making them more natural looking as well.
If you decide to do that, I highly suggest you use a holistic dentist. They know how to do a sanitary removal of all your fillings. This will help protect you from the vapors while removing the mercury.
