I’ve got quite a large chipped tooth. I’m humliated to smile, but my dentist said he can’t see me for a week. I don’t know if I can go that long. Can’t this be considered a dental emergency?

Sophia,
I understand your frustration. There are some general dentists who would not consider this a dental emergency. You will probably have better luck with a cosmetic dentist. Some may even see you the same day.
If it is a small chip, he or she will be able to repair it with some dental bonding or, if you want something to last even longer, porcelain veneers. If it is a large chip, you may need to get a porcelain crown instead.
