I’m interested in doing sedation dentistry, but I regularly take pain pills. Is it possible to take pain killers while doing sedation dentistry?

Melissa,
It is possible to take pain medication while doing sedation dentistry, depending on the type of medication you’re using. The sedation dentistry medication will make you feel a little loopy itself.
It will be imperative you speak to your dentist ahead of time to make sure he knows what kind of medication you are prescribed just to make sure there wouldn’t be any counter-indications.
Talk to him or her before your appointment. There will be a small possibliity you’ll need to wait until after the sedation is over to take your other pills.
