If I’m seventeen can I go to the emergency dentist by myself? I face planted at school today and hit my teeth. One of them is chipped and I think another is loose. I don’t want bother my mother with this. She’s been going through a lot right now. Both her parents died and my dad left. She spends most of her time crying right now and I think one more thing to worry about might be too much.

Trey,
You sound like the kind of son every mom would be proud to have. You’re thoughtful, responsible, and take action in times of need. The law states that you have to be the “age of majority”. In all states, that is 18, with the exception of a few which consider graduation from high school sufficient.
I know you’re probably worried about your mom, but I bet your mom is equally worried about you. You’ve lost two grandparents and a father, so you shouldn’t have to handle this by yourself.
Let your mom know what is going on. If you want to ease the stress, you could call and schedule with the emergency dentist, then all your mom would have to do is tag along to OK the treatment.
